Step 1.
Peel the apples. Coarsely grate the peeled apples into a saucepan.
Step 2.
Add the lemon juice, sugar and butter into the grated apples. Mix to combine then set the pan over a medium-high heat.
Step 3.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then turn the heat down to medium, place a lid on and cook for 15-20 mins, stirring occasionally, until the apples have softened completely.
Step 4.
Once softened, remove the lid. If your apple sauce is too loose for your liking, turn the heat up to medium-high and keep cooking the apple sauce for another 5-10 mins, with the lid off, until thickened.
Step 5.
Taste and season with more sugar, if desired. Serve with roast pork.
