The calories for this are not correct. 125g of uncooked rice equals roughly 440 cals alone. a salmon fillet 270.

I bought all the ingredients to make this before reading the comments about it being bland (whoops), so I made sure to add some extra flavour! I marinated the salmon for an hour beforehand in miso, soy, mirin, and honey. For the sauce you stir through, I added soy, honey, mirin, lime juice, ginger–garlic paste, and a splash of water. I simmered it for 5 minutes until it turned sticky, then stirred it through while still hot. It was super sticky and very tasty in the end, will deffo make again!

Hey Kieren! As this recipe is designed for kids there's less aromatics and spice going on, but your additions sound like great tweaks.

I made the 2 portion version for try he kids but it was enough for 3 . I fried an onion and ginger and garlic before adding the rice and also mixed some light soy with the chicken stock. it was delicious

I made 2 portions of this for 2 adults and 2 kids (3 & 5), but I used 4 salmon fillets. We are big eaters and we had a big portion left over for 2 kids or an adult's dinner. I was a bit worried after reading the other reviews, but I added an onion, garlic and ginger which I sauteed with the peppers before adding the other ingredients. I left out the honey. The adults had Chinese crispy chilli oil on top which is always a winner. kids loved it with cucumber. will definitely make this again as it was so easy in one pot on the stove.

This was sadly my least favourite of the meals I’ve cooked from the Mob app. The preparation was easy, but the flavour was quite bland. I also think the serving size is off for this recipe. I served 2 adults and had 1.5-2 servings remaining.

Can I also ask if you were cooking this for only adults?

Recipe didn’t taste of much. I’d recommend chopping the veg smaller and grating in some fresh ginger and garlic gloves to add greater depth of flavour. Would also stir through some sweet chilli sauce in place of honey for a bit of a heat kick. Sadly would not remake this dish!
