In Partnership With Aldi. #ad. This pork fillet gets the star treatment with zingy ginger sauce and garlic butter rice. Feels fancy, but it’s way easier than it looks.

I had to make a lot of adjustments to make this recipe work for me. 1) The honey water mixture was too runny. There’s no way this can be “brushed on”. I had to reduce it in a saucepan so that it would be thicker. I also applied and reapplied it multiple times while in the oven 2) Sauce quantities are wild. There is no way you need 250mL (one cup!) of soy sauce for 4 servings. Instead, I used 1/4 cup of soy sauce and 2 tbsp of rice vinegar, and kept all other measurements the same. It was still incredibly strong in flavour so I had to dilute it with some water too. 3)There was no mention of where the spring onions and sesame was to be used. So I assumed this was for garnish. Overall, I don’t think this recipe scales well. A lot of the measurements didn’t need to change when increasing the number of servings. That aside, the flavor profile was nice and with the adjustments I made, it turned out incredibly delicious. Mob team- please consider revisiting and tweaking this recipe! It’s defs great with all the adjustments.

least favourite of all the Mob recipes I've tried, I'd swerve this one

very nice but couldn’t plate up all the sauce - way too much soy sauce and felt like a waste of a bottle

measurements for the sauce were so off - inedible meal.

Delicious. This was the recipe I saw on Facebook that made me download the app.

absolutely epic! incredibly fresh, tasty and currently my husbands favourite of what I have cooked from from MOB! My only substitute was cooking brown rice from scratch instead of microwave rice (but that’s just us). Pulsing the sauce in the blender made a really nice crunchy sauce with a nice chilli bite.

tasty sauce, cooking times are a bit off. I would go the lower end of the time range on the pork and cook the mushrooms earlier for longer

The recipe doesn’t update the cooking times as you increase the number of servings - so everything else was ready but my pork basically raw. I think it would have tasted better if everything else wasn’t hanging around waiting for the meat to cook 🤦‍♀️

Nice, loved the garlic rice and the pork but the sauce was weird (didn’t require cooking?), I ended up cooking it in a pan until it went slightly sticky then pouring on the pork which I thought was an improvement to raw onion and ginger.

Hey Shaun! Thanks so much for your honest feedback, we really appreciate you giving this one a go. Was there any element in particular that disappointed?

This was good and quite low effort. I appreciate that the pork cooks in the oven, freeing up my pan to grill the veggies. I added some lemongrass to the sauce because I had it, worked very well.

The dish was delicious, but the method was a bit unclear and slowed me down while cooking. The ingredients list includes rice vinegar, soy sauce, lemon juice, and lemon zest, but these aren’t clearly mentioned in the steps. For example, sugar is listed with the sauce ingredients but appears in the rice method, which made things confusing. Overall, a lovely recipe, but the instructions could be more precise.

I really enjoyed this recipe but I think the measurements for the water, soy sauce and rice vinegar are wrong. I used the ones stated above, and for the sauce I had to put it through a sieve after blitzing it because it was so liquid!

Though I love MOB , I do find the editing of hour recipes can be on the poor side . I'll give an example in this you could say 'remove pork from pan and keep for later for the veg , but you don't.Mines be washed up and back in the cupboard , then I'm like 'oh ' I need it again ... just maybe a little tip.

Hi David-Anthon! That is very efficient washing up on your part! Thanks for your honest feedback, we're always looking to make our recipes more clear but we do recommend reading the entire recipe first before you begin cooking :) x
