I really like the simple method and have cooked this several times with my own twists. I found the original too bland and too far from my idea of stroganoff. Here’s my changes: 1. I cook a batch for 8 and cook the sliced mushrooms in the oven (works great and a lot less faff) 2. swapped the curry powder for smoked paprika 3. lots more sour cream 4. added extra Dijon at the end 5. added chopped cornichons

My husband thought it was curried sausages and wondered where the sausages was lol. It was yummy but not quite beef stroganoff tasting for us - more curried sausages. I did not have parsely though and I skipped the butter as I wanted to be healthy..Those might have made the difference.

I wasn’t sure about curry powder for a stroganoff. before I added the sour cream it did just taste like a lovely curry but the last few finishing touches turned it around. Very tasty and not too rich. I didn’t marinate at all as didn’t have time and still turned out very nice. I just diced beef not steak strips and cooked for about 30 mins.

The best recipe I’ve found for beef stroganoff. The flavour is just right. I did try a different one but it was so bland

What would you suggest is a good substitution for the Worcestershire sauce as I’m celiac? Hard to find GF Worcestershire sauce. Thx

A suggestion for recipes that require marinading in advance: please could the recipes state that they need to be marinaded in the time given at the top? I keep trying new recipes and only realise they need to be marinaded overnight too late

100% agree! Why have the first step as prep all your veg if you're gonna hit me with 24 hours of marinating on like step 3 or whatever?
Now I have a boat load veg prepped with 2 hours (at least) to wait
