The Bacon Mustard Muffin

Step 1.

Preheat the grill on medium (200°C/400°F).

Step 2.

Line a baking tray with foil and grill the streaky bacon until crisp. This should take about 5 minutes depending on the temperature of the oven.

Step 3.

Heat some oil in a frying pan and butter your English muffin halves. Then spread on an even drizzle of French’s Classic Yellow mustard on each slice (about 1 1/2 tsp per muffin) and fry each half - spread side down until nicely toasted, golden and deliciously mustardy.

Step 4.

On the four toasted mustard bottom halves, lay down a cheese slice, put on a lined tray and grill until melted.

Step 5.

Prepare the rest of your sandwich components. Thinly slice your tomatoes and lettuce and on a high heat fry up each egg until nice and crispy.

Step 6.

Now it is time to layer up the French’s Classic Yellow mustard muffins with 2 slices of tomatoes, lettuce leaves, 2 bacon rashers, and the egg on top. Season with salt and pepper and last but not least the French’s Classic Yellow mustard drizzle, all over the top of your open sandwich. Then, pop your muffin top on and tuck in!

You want your French’s mustard muffin halves to get really caramelised and crispy, don’t worry if it burns a little, crispy is good!

3 Tbsp Mustard (we use French’s Classic Yellow mustard)
4 English Muffins
4 Eggs
8 Rashers of Smoked Streaky Bacon
4 Cheddar Cheese Slices
2 Beef Tomatoes
1 1/2 Tbsp Butter
1/4 Iceberg Lettuce
