used white cannellini beans instead of rice, and added shredded collard greens that I let stew for 40 mins. Was brilliant

very yummy! We used rainbow trout instead of chicken (pescatarian) and it turned out real nice! I think due to this it could probably have benefitted from frying off some onion along with the garlic, but otherwise super tasty. Ended up topping off with feta but Im sure with the chicken it would be totally unnecessary. Really light, comforting and nutritious-feeling.

Is there actually a way to have 1 1/2 fl oz of vinegar pickle and entire onion (sliced)?

Phenomenal! Reminds me a bit if Ghormeh Sabzi, but a much quicker, simpler version. It's great with or without the rice. I also added a bit of honey to the chicken marinade for a touch of sweetness, and it was great. this will be a staple for sure!

This was yummy as all hell. Definitely recommend using a deep non-stick frying pan as opposed to a cast iron (like I made the mistake of doing) as the heat from cooking the chicken will mean your garlic/coriander will get absolutely fritzed unless you give it time to cool down. YUMMO another win by mob - thanks team!!! 🫶🏽

Somewhat annoying that the picture seems to show chicken breasts rather than thighs?

Slightly annoying that I have to go out and look up what Lebanese 7 spice consists of. It's not sold in supermarkets in Brazil. You should give some thought to that when you compile your recipes.

Thanks so much for the feedback Brent. We’ll definitely keep this in mind for future recipes and try to include a breakdown of blends like Lebanese 7 spice so it’s easier to recreate wherever you are.

I did figure it out - it’s sold as baharat here - which I suppose is the actual Arabic name for the spice mixture.

So you managed to search it and find out? I'm afraid you're not owed an explanation of every tiny little thing when the whole internet exists for you to find things out. Give these guys a break

It was really gorgeous! Perfect on the cold evenings we're having, but still really fresh. I added extra sautéed veg. I wish this recipe would include cooking the rice within the cook time, as it did make it a much longer cook time than advertised.

Low and high key obsessed with this soup. I froze a bunch of the broth and then toasted up the spices and a bit of oil with some already cooked leftover stock chicken and it was still incredible.
