Unbelievably delicious! (but I found 1/2 tsp chilli powder is more than enough in the 4 servings amounts)

Super duper yummy! However I do agree with other comments, it's definitely too spicy and I love spice! Next time I will not add as much chilli powder.

If I was to find myself in a budget supermarket — what’s the best alternative to Puy lentils? Is it the cans of Green lentils?

Hi Gareth! Canned green lentils are a great budget-friendly alternative, they're slightly softer than Puy but still work well in a daal. Dried green or brown lentils are good too, just adjust cooking time.

O my, Sophie you genius 🤌🏼👌🏼 What a delightful meal. I also made the yoghurt flat breads, which are equally amazing.

I’m in Canada … Can I ask is the curry powder used just a standard yellow regular grocery store kind? And is the chilli powder more of an Indian variety ? Maybe Kashmiri? Or is it the cumin blend that we in Canada would throw in our chili?

Welcome from Canada Darrah! Yep the curry powder is that standard yellowy kind you can get in the grocery store here but a cumin blend would work well too. Any chilli powder will do but a kashmiri would definitely work a treat! x

Really delicious- whole family enjoyed this. Did supplement with some naan bread and would probably double the lentils next time just because my family likes large portions!

I think 3 tablespoons of curry powder makes it far to spicey

I absolutely loved this! I did have to replace the puy lentils with regular brown lentils but it all came together perfectly. I just upped the spice levels to my taste :) Mob slays again!

I followed the recipe for 4 servings even though there were 3 of us and the portions were nowhere near big enough, would advise to top up the lentils. Was really tasty tho

Hi Shaun, thanks so much for the feedback. We've changed the serving suggestion to 3 people so the portion sizes are a bit bigger. Glad it was tasty!

Amazing! Will definitely make again. I did the halloumi in the air fryer and worked well. I reckon next time I will use two onions.

Very tasty! Will make again. Did think the whole 4p recipe would not enough for 2 adults and 3 kids (7,10,13) so added homemade naan from another mob recipe. Next time I would also add 1,5x the lentils and double the amount of pickled onion.

Really easy and delicious recipe, I’ve done it with paneer instead in the air fryer which is also worth a try! I like to add spinach and serve it with some tenderstem broccoli and naan.

This was so delicious! The marinade on halloumi is so good. I added in fresh chilli too and had only had brown lentils to hand and still worked out. Perfect Winter comfort bowl.

So, so good! I did bump up the spice quantities in the dhall for extra flavour and a pinch of salt in the yogurt. Delicious.
