Two fantastic dishes meshed into one – it's a bowl full of dreamy smacked cucumber dumpling salad, the best dinner you could ever make yourself. A refreshing and spicy dish perfect for a quick side or light meal. Don’t forget to garnish with sesame seeds and fresh herbs like parsley or coriander (aka cilantro for any Americans out there) for added flavour and crunch – we’ve thrown in some fresh radishes here for some of that vegetable freshness. This salad combines the cool crispness of cucumbers with the savoury warmth of dumplings, making it an exciting addition to your recipe collection.

unreal, only needs half the quantity of tahini in the dressing; and is excellent with a handful of roasted peanuts through it too, and good with a side of plain rice as a more substantial meal

This is a great "base recipe" to add to as you like. I followed the other comments in halving the tahini, adding peanut butter, and additional sugar. I added several tablespoons of vinegar to both the sauce and salad. I doubled the green onion, added 3 cloves grated garlic, and a large handful of chopped cilantro. Even adding herbs, garlic, etc. it still felt balanced while being super flavorful.

So great for a weeknight ! I've also reduced the amount of tahini and add 1 tsp of peanut butter ! Also add chive vinegar and shallot.

Holy smokes this is delicious! After reading the comments I used half the tahini and a little more sugar as I found the sauce a bit bitter, also added some crispy onions at the end for a bit of crunchy texture. Quick & simple enough for a WFH lunch

Very yummy and a good way to elevate frozen dumplings into more of a main meal. I’d probably use less tahini next time, the creamy sauce was a little overpowering!

Nice idea and I enjoyed the flavours - even though I did get carried away with the chilli oil! Next time I might sub out some of the cucumber for some rice noodles.

A smackingly good salad! Love the flavour combos here and bonus points for making me feel like a healthy hunny this evening! All paired perfectly with lots of chilli crisp, deliciously soft, yet crunchy dumplings and yummy veg stewing in flavour-land juices! My one star off comes from the fact that it felt slightly heavy on the tahini which led to me going absolutely ham on the sugar and soy in an attempt to balance the flavours (but look I'm no Gordon Ramsay)- I did my best and the house, including the dog (when I inevitably spilt the sauce) were happy! 8/10

added bean sprouts and chinese leaf (napa cabbage) for some extra body, the combo of the tahini dressing and the vinagette on the salad is amazing

Nice, but I think half the sauce quantity would be enough. Takes longer than 15 mins mind! Worth getting good chilli oil

Such an easy lunch! I forgot I had no spring onions and just used some pak choi whites for a similar crunch instead. Next time I might spend a little longer on the cucumbers and do the traditional smacked cucumber thing of drawing out liquid with salt beforehand so the dressing doesnt dilute as much.

Great way to turn gyoza from a starter into a main. My only change is that added grated ginger into the salad sauce/dressing thing (because I love ginger) and that was delicious

Have done this over and over again. Really good with added edamame too! I've also done with peanut butter when i ran out of tahini, and then added sesame seeds
